  • André Vietor
    PROFESSIONAL CONGRESS ORGANIZER EXPERT

    André Vietor, a native German born in Frankfurt/Main, started his career in the hotel industry where he held sales positions at several properties as well as at international sales offices for Intercontinental Hotels and the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company between 1984 and 1995. In 1995 he joined the PCO business and is currently leading Barceló Congresos, the congress division of Grupo Barceló dedicated to meetings management, association management and business events consulting. He positioned the brand as one of the top references in congress management worldwide. In early 2014 he started to expand the business to Latin America with the brand “Barceló Congresos Latam” opening offices and establishing strategic partnerships in several countries such as Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico, Panama, Peru and Uruguay. André is an expert and professional consultant in business plan development, planning of bid strategies and management of bid presentations, destination marketing as well as association development. He is an active board member of IAPCO (International Association of Professional Congress Organisers) since 2001 where he was President from 2006 to 2008. He currently holds the position of the Chair of the Training Academy since 2011.

Career-wise, Juan José holds a MBA degree and is highly skilled in project management. He joined the PCO Business in 1987 and he held various positions within the sector until he settled in his current position as Director of Sales and Marketing of Barceló Congresos, one of the leading PCO’s in Europe and Latin America.     CMP, CMM, CASE

    Eduardo Chaillo is a natural connector of meeting and tourism professionals globally. Currently President of his own consultancy company and is now also, Global General Manager for Latin America at Maritz Travel Company. Chaillo worked for the last years as Executive Director for the Meeting Industry for the Mexico Tourism Board in their office in Washington, D.C. He was responsible for developing alliances with all the organizations and players from the meetings and conventions arena as well as to conduct Mexico’s effort towards the Association, Corporate and Destination Weddings markets.

    Chaillo got CIC’s global Certification as a Meeting Professional (CMP) in 2004, MPI’s CMM on Meeting Management in 2006, and CASE (Certified Association Sales Executive) from PCMA in 2013. He served for 6 years in the ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) Board of Directors representing North America; he also serves in PCMA’s Board of Trustees and during 2011 - 2014 served as the international representative to the CMP Board of Directors within the CIC umbrella. Recently he was given the JMIC’s Profile and Power Award, was recognized by Successful Meetings Magazine as one of the 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings Industry.
